CCHF, a viral zoonotic disease, is endemic in Pakistan. The disease has recently been reported in Punjab Province. Two health professional have lost their lives, after getting contamination from a patient, the news report reveals.
To avoid any unwanted situation in this regard and cope up with the expected alarming situation, The Director General (Extension) Livestock and dairy development Department khyber Pakhtunkhwa has directed all District Directors livestock (DDL) Khyber Pakhtunkha to establish Check Posts on Entry/Exit points of every district, Specifically those districts sharing border with Punjab province. it must be ensured that every animal moving across the check point is provided with anti tick spray, to avoid transmission of the disease" further added by the DG Livestock KPK. The DDLs are further directed to immediately mobilise their field staff to follow all the biosecurity measures in this regard along with keeping the livestock farmers/general public aware of the situation.
