Objectives

The following are the objectives that the Department aims to achieve:

1. To ensure efficient delivery of services in the livestock sector in order to improve health, efficiency, and productivity of livestock with sustainable use of natural resources
2. To conserve, improve and develop local livestock breeds
3. To promote the production of safe and healthy food
4. To promote one health approach to minimize the incidence of zoonoses
